Every Ullman sail is custom-made to meet your specific sailing needs. The Ullman Sails team works with each customer to specifically design and produce the best sails for their boat. Based on the boat usage, budget and owner goals and expectations, the Ullman Sails team will explain the options available in sail fabrics, discuss the best construction techniques and details on the range of the sails from Ullman Sails. You will be very satisfied with your experience in buying and sailing with your new Ullman sails.

UNLIMITED MANUFACTURING CAPABILITY
Planning a circumnavigation? Ullman Sails provides a network of lofts worldwide that will help you along your journey. Are you looking for the latest in string technology or concerned about premium Dacron fabrics? We only use premium fabrics and never send a new sail order to a third party loft. Your new sail is only built by Ullman employees with the best materials produced.
Ullman Sails has over 50 years of sailmaking history providing quality, fast sails since David Ullman created the Ullman brand in California. Whether you are racing or cruising, Ullman Sails Ontario will build the best sails for your boat. Our network of lofts worldwide contributes information and construction in sails to make the highest quality sails for all types of sailboats. Our singular reputation and demonstrated leadership in the sailmaking industry are proven year after year by our customers.
Ullman Sails is supported by one of the largest and most technologically advanced production lofts in the world. The loft employees over 120 trained staff members and has manufactured over 100,000 sails in its 30-year history. Recognized worldwide for its quality standards and expertise, it is sought out to produce top projects that range from a Southern Wind 102’ to world championship-winning J/70 sails.
The loft includes a state-of-the-art membrane plant, and specialized departments for one design, panelled cruising and racing sails, spinnakers and superyachts. The loft also houses research and development facilities for the Ullman Sails group, providing an ideal platform to merge manufacturing know-how with design, materials and technical development.

SUPERIOR MEMBRANE PRODUCTION
Our state-of-the-art membrane facility is internationally recognized for the superior lamination and precise construction. Great care is taken in the selection of our membrane components from the fibers and glue to the Mylars and taffetas. There is no size restriction on membrane production—the loft has two stringing machines including our ‘long-arm’ machine, which enables us to string sails for any size boat.
UNCOMPROMISING STANDARDS & CONSISTENCY
With the experience of our sailmakers from all corners of the globe and decades on the sail loft floor, Ullman Sails has developed a manual of construction standards by which all Ullman Sails are built that covers every aspect of an Ullman Sails sail. These standards are used group-wide, which means that no matter where your sail is built in the Ullman Sails system, your sail is built to the same quality standards.

Ullman Sails is uncompromising when selecting the materials to engineer our sails. We believe that you must work with the best in order to produce the best. We only use the recognized vendors in the industry: Contender Sailcloth, Dimension-Polyant, Bainbridge International, Challenge Sailcloth, Rutgerson, Antal, C-Tech Battens, RBS Battens, and Sunbrella, just to name a few.
And we never stop looking forward – we continue to research new materials and the latest technological developments to improve our product and better meet the needs of our customers.
LOCAL ACCESS
Our lofts have the flexibility to manufacture in their local loft and source sails from the international Ullman Sails network. This means Ullman Sails delivers to you on all levels – superior product manufacturing, market-leading technology, and capable service and support in your home port.
The Ullman Sails Design Team is our network of highly qualified sail designers with responsibility for FiberPath sail design, racing sail design, and the Ullman Sails design philosophy and development.
For our premier projects, both during the design process and subsequent commissioning and tuning stages, our Design Team holds collaborative meetings with project managers, yacht designers, boat builders, spar makers, our sailmakers and sailors from around the world to ensure goals are met.
